Decay Diagnostics

Limbwalker Tree Care's certified arborists can help you determine the precise amount of decay in any portion of your tree's architecture. Roots, trunks, and branches can each have specific fungal pathogens that compromise their structural integrity. Choose between invasive and non-invasive diagnostics depending on your budget and situation. Standard diagnostics include sounding the tree for cavities, visual inspection, fungal pathogen ID, and probing with an 11" X 3/16" drill bit. For special and historic trees, or to determine root density, ground penetrating radar linked to a software program can map detailed images. (Note: Some fungal pathogens such as Ganoderma applamatum or Innonatus dryaedus are very aggressive and can undermine your tree's stability within a couple years. Schedule an appointment immediately to ID any fungal bodies you see.)
